Service Update

June 4, 2020

Dear Richmond Public Library patrons,

While all physical Richmond Public Library branches remain closed due to public health orders, we still have resources available for you and are actively planning how to expand our services.

  • You’ll find lots of resources, including an ever-expanding catalog of ebooks, at

  • You can register for a library card or get an Instant Digital Card for OverDrive (Libby) using a local cell phone.

  • If you need help finding information, or you’re looking for book recommendations, contact us!

  • If you need to get or renew a library card, or you have account access issues, email

Service Expansion

Soon we’ll be setting times when our phones will be staffed so that we can answer your questions. We are currently developing plans to open for front door service, so you’ll be able to return books and pick up holds. While we will not be open for browsing until a later date, we’ll be happy to take requests and make recommendations during this time.

  • Once we are able to accept and provide books, we will be quarantining returns, so you may notice that they don’t come off your account immediately.

    • Don’t worry; we’re not charging overdue fines or fees during this time!
